Message from the Superintendent

Dear Abington School Community,

Great things are occurring in the active and vibrant Abington Public Schools. We are very proud of the students we serve. You are invited to please inquire about any of our important work!

These are examples of the many events and activities happening in the Abington Public Schools:

  • Registration for the 2022-2023 school year at AEEP and for kindergarten at BBES is ongoing.
  • Bus transportation applications for the 2022-2023 school year are now available. All applications are due by July 1, 2022. Further information and forms may be found on the web site under "Transportation".
  • The Abington Middle School Drama Club will perform "We're All Stars" this month.
  • The Abington High School Arts Festival will take place during the week of May 18, 2022. The public is invited. 
  • MCAS testing is taking place in most schools on various dates in the spring.
  • Twelve Abington High School interns are spending time working with students at the AEEP.
  • Students in grades seven through ten may apply for the PCC summer experience.
  • The Pumpernickel Puppets will perform at the AEEP.
  • There will be travel opportunities for next year's freshmen, sophomore and junior class students. 
  • The BBES is hosting the Brazilian Beats Concert this month.
  • The Wellness Committee is looking for volunteers to serve on this committee.
  • The BBES PTO is sponsoring a book fair.
  • The 2022-2023 district calendar was approved by the school committee and is available on the web site. 
  • AHS National Honor Society students are tutoring students at the Abington Middle School.
  • The annual BBES Field Day is scheduled for June 7, 2022. 
  • The Academic Center for Enrichment continues at Abington High School for any student who chooses to participate.
  • The Abington High School Concert Choir and Concert Band will perform its spring concert at the high school auditorium on May 18, 2022, at 7 PM.
  • Yearbook committees are putting the finishing touches on the 2023 yearbooks at both the high school and middle school.
  • Woodsdale PTO is hosting a movie night. 
  • Math tutoring is available during the bridge block at Abington High School.
  • Grades 1 & 2 at BBES will be treated to the Brain Show.
  • The Class of 2025 is selling raffle calendars this month.
  • The very popular annual junior class auction takes place later this spring.
  • Joe's Crazy Critter's will visit grade 1 students at BBES. 
  • A new club called Best Buddies is underway at Abington Middle School.
  • The annual eighth grade semi-formal gathering will take place in June. This year's theme is Northern Lights. 
  • Interested students may sign up for Woodsdale’s Camp Invention (summer 2022).
  • Ms. Amy from the Abington Public Library makes monthly visits at the AEEP for story time.
  • Johnny the K will perform at BBES. 
  • Spring sports at Abington High School are underway.
  • The Abington Middle School spring concert will showcase grades 7 & 8 band and chorus and grade 5 & 6 band members. 
  • Grade 2 students at BBES will have its annual vocabulary parade.
