Young children love to get their fingers moving and walking....
This fine motor skills game, Eat the Cheese, is super adorable and fun to get little fingers ready to pick up small objects.
Try making these hungry mice who love to eat the cheese for hours and hours of FUN!!!
Fabric Creation
This activity encourages fine motor skills and tactile input. Great activity for children of all abilities.
·        cardboard,
·        glue,
·        water,
·        a mixing bowl
·        some fabric scraps of any kind (fabric from old clothes, stuffed toys, or left over material, etc).
Ever wish you had a physical activity that could help children de-stress, calm down, return to balance, find center, and get grounded?
Most of the time when children are beyond their own capacity to contain and control themselves, it’s because we have let them get too tired, too dehydrated, too over-stimulated.
Self-regulation takes energy and if there’s none left, the nervous system literally goes into overload with all the accompanying distress behavior.
A few basic kids yoga poses, practiced regularly with children, along with the breathing techniques, offer simple, effective actions that enable children to build self-regulation.
Calming Lotion
Find some hand/body lotion that has a calming scent to it, such as lavender, vanilla or anything that calms your soul.
Put a dab of the lotion on your children's hands then have them rub it into their skin. They can smell and sniff the scent through-out the day as a "relaxing break" from it all!!! Now don't forget you as well- good for the whole family!!!
Gather some paints together- any kind...watercolors, tempera, or whatever you have! Get your mind into a relaxing mode and click on the picture below to get painting to some MUSIC!!!
A fun and entertaining activity to do as a family
Go through old photo books together and share some of your childhood tales, stories and adventures with your children!!! They will be amused and fascinated with the things you did growing up!!!!
