09/16 Update
As you are aware, we have several students in our school with life threatening allergies to peanuts and tree nuts. I would like to make a correction to a piece of information given last week in my news update regarding the cookies served on Thursdays. All food served in the district is Peanut and Tree Nut Free, including the cookies served on Thursdays. The cookies do contain other allergens such as milk, eggs, soy, and wheat. I apologize for any confusion this caused. If you have any questions about specific foods we serve, please direct them to me and I can help. You can reach me by email: michelleapazidis@abingtonps.org or my extension at Beaver Brook is 4367.

We have several students in our school with life threatening allergies to nuts. You should have received a letter only if your child is in a Peanut Sensitive Classroom, a Tree Nut Sensitive Classroom, or a Peanut & Tree Nut Sensitive Classroom. Just to be clear, each letter was NOT the same so please follow your classroom specific letter when sending in food items. We have a Nut Sensitive Table in the cafeteria for students with nut allergies to sit at with a buddy of their choice who is buying lunch since that is Nut Safe. Only the cookie sold on Thursdays could contain nut products so the lunch helpers are aware that the buddy will not be able to eat the cookie at the Nut Sensitive Table. If you have any questions at all, please direct them to me by email: michelleapazidis@abingtonps.org ~ Michelle Apazidis, School Nurse
