SENIOR CLASS PICNIC WILL BE MAY 31, 2019 - 4/30
 
The AHS Class of 2019 Senior Class Picnic is scheduled Friday, May 31st. Donations are needed for the Senior Class Picnic -https://signup.com/go/yUTzSHK to bring in a food item. CLASS OF 2019 - SENIOR NEWS - 04/22

A letter was mailed to the parents of all prospective June 2019 graduates during vacation to insure that students and parents are aware of the procedures involved at the conclusion of the year.  Please carefully review this bulletin with your child and place it in a convenient place so that you may refer to it as necessary. 

SENIOR CLASS YARD SIGNS:   The Class of 2019 is selling Yard Signs for the senior graduating class. The green & white signs proudly read HOME OF A 2019 GRADUATE and include the school’s logo. Signs are one sided, 18” by 24” and include stakes. The cost is $20.00 and all proceeds will benefit the senior class. Deadline to order is April 26th.

GRADUATION SPEECH: Any graduating senior who would like to be considered for the featured student speaker at graduation should submit a hard copy of their speech to Principal Sullivan by Friday, May 3rd. Speeches will be judged by a faculty committee based on thematic value, relevance, and strength of message (3 to 5 minutes).

SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION - 02/28

GUIDANCE NEWS: The following scholarship applications are available in the Guidance Department.
 
v The Officer Timothy F. O'Connor Scholarship application is now available in in Guidance. Must be furthering their education in Criminal Justice. (March 27thdeadline)
v Humpty Dumpty Nursery School (March 30th deadline)
v Abington Garden Club Scholarship: Any senior whose intended focus is on the environment, horticulture, agriculture, biology, earth sciences, conservation or a similar field of study. (April 1st deadline)
v Walter F. Paster Athletic Scholarship for Outstanding Student/Athlete (April 1stdeadline)
v The Abington Firefighters Local #2080 Scholarship Application is also available in the Guidance Office. (April 5th deadline)
v Abington Youth Soccer Scholarship (April 15th deadline)
v Skip Gorman Memorial Scholarship through SSL (April 15th deadline)
 
Students are reminded to check their school emails and/or the white scholarship binder.

In order to have a senior quote, activities, memories, etc. next to your picture in the yearbook, you need to fill out the Senior Packet Form that was sent to your school email. The form also has spaces for Remember When, Class Will, Class Prophecy, Things Teachers/Students Say, and Favorites. Email Mrs. McHugh if you need the form resent to you. Deadline for this information is Friday, December 21st.

CLASS OF 2019 CAP AND GOWN MEASUREMENTS - 12/14
Class of 2019 Seniors Cap & Gown measurements have been postponed from December 13, 2018 to January 7, 2019.                $20.00  - Due in Main Office

JANUARY 1, 2019 TRANSCRIPT DEADLINE - 12/11
Seniors with a January 1st deadline must see their counselor to release their transcript no later than Thursday, December 20th.  Transcripts that are not released before vacation will not arrive at the college by the January 1st deadline.

CLASS OF 2019 YEARBOOK PORTRAITS - 11/28
Hey seniors!! We have been able to schedule one final date for senior yearbook pictures. Next Thursday, December 6th, Lifetouch will be here to take yearbook pictures of any seniors who have not had their pictures done yet.  Please see Mrs. McHugh as soon as possible if you need your pictures done and she will set up an appointment for you during the school day.  If you choose not to get your picture take onDecember 6th, your yearbook picture will be the one used for your school ID.

CLASS OF 2019 YEARBOOK PORTRAITS - 11/19
We have completed the scheduled yearbook portrait dates with Lifetouch. If you have not had your portrait taken by Lifetouch, See Mrs. McHugh. If we have more than 6 people who still need to have their portraits done, we can schedule one additional date. Any student who has not had their yearbook portrait done by Lifetouch will have the school ID photo as their yearbook picture. 

SENIOR GUIDANCE NEWS - 10/31
All Seniors interested in taking the AFL-CIO Labor Exam for an opportunity to win a scholarship, please see Mrs. Potter in the Guidance Department. The exam will be February 6, 2019.  Deadline to register for the exam is December 14th

SENIOR GUIDANCE NEWS - 10/30

Seniors with a November 15th deadline should turn in their green Transcript Release form no later than Friday, November 2nd.  

Seniors should check their student email for important updates and announcements.


T-SHIRT INFORMATION - 10/25

The survey results are in and T-shirt orders will be placed on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 so you can wear it to pep rally. You will be receiving a new email in which you will need to tell us your size. If anyone has a t-shirt design idea, please submit it to  Mrs. Howell or Mrs. Daisy by Tuesday, October 30, 2018.  

TRANSCRIPTS - 10/25
If you have a November 1, 2018 deadline you must turn in your green transcript release form by Friday, October 26, 2018.  Submissions after that date may result in a delay in delivering your documents to colleges.

COLLEGE VISITATIONS

The student/family visit to a college campus is an important part of the post-secondary planning process. Students are encouraged to schedule college interviews and campus tours to help them make more informed choices.  Often these visits cannot be scheduled around  the high school calendar.  Juniors and seniors will be allowed five college visits that must be completed by May 1st of their senior year.  Military visits include tours, information sessions, interviews, placement exams and other military obligations.  Upon return to school the student must bring a note from the school visited to the main office.
