ALICE DRILL: Weather-permitting, Abington High School will be practicing an evacuation drill with the support of the Abington Police Department on Friday, April 12th. This drill will serve as practice in the event that we need to evacuate our building and stay clear of emergency vehicles. During this drill, student sand staff will evacuate the school and follow our safety protocols.

ALMOST SPRING VACATION SPIRIT WEEK: The Freshmen Student Council is sponsoring Almost Spring Vacation Spirit Week beginning Monday, April 8th:

SCHOOL MANDATED SCREENINGS: School mandated screenings will take place during the month of April. If parents would like to “Opt Out” they can email school Donna Conso at [email protected]. The following screenings will be completed: 

 

Grade 9 students: SBIRT and Postural screening

Grade 10 students: BMI, vision, and hearing

 

SENIOR GUIDANCE NEWS: The priority deadline for FAFSA is May 1stIf you are planning to attend any 4-year college, university, community college or trade school, you may be eligible for Federal financial aid. Click HERE to access the FAFSA website and to complete the 2024-2025 application. 

 

USED SOLAR ECLIPSE GLASSES: National Honor Society is collecting used solar eclipse glasses for the Astronomers Without Borders Recycling Project. This organization recycles glasses so they can be used in community events in other parts of the world who are scheduled for a future eclipse. There is a box outside the library and outside the office. Thanks for helping to keep these glasses out of landfills.
