The Abington School Committee and Administration would like to recognize and commend the following:
  • Rohith Ghose, Sean Moran and Brian Tobin for being selected to represent Abington at Bridgewater State University’s Honor Band.
  • Julia Do for placing as a high scoring participant at the final Math meet of the year, outscoring 65 students in her division to earn this distinction.
  • High School seniors, Julia Do and Allison MacLeod for meeting all the requirements to advance to Finalist standing in the National Merit Scholarship Program.
  • Grossman Scholarship winners, Lauren Nelligan and Allison MacLeod
  • Hannah Tirrell for being named the Middle School Project 351 Ambassador
  • The PE/Wellness Department for partnering with the American Heart Association to raise funds for the Kids Heart Challenge this year (formerly Jump Rope for Heart and Hoops for Heart). Between Beaver Brook, Woodsdale, and Abington Middle School the families of Abington donated a combined $21,663.00 to the American Heart Association. The generosity of our community is greatly appreciated! The American Heart Association works hard to fight heart disease and stroke. The money raised goes toward research that continues to make an impact in our nation.
  • Freshman Amanda Murphy whose story "Every Day Is a Battle to Breathe" received a story excellence award from SNO (School Newspaper Organization). Check it out in the Green Wave Gazette and don't forget to follow them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!
  • Green Wave Gazette who just earned a third badge for SNO (school newspaper organization). This badge is for audience engagement and would not have been possible without their faithful followers on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram. This recent badge moves the Green Wave Gazette into 66th place out of 392 participating schools across the country.
  • The Green Wave Gazette newspaper club, staff writers, digital team, editors and contributors for recently receiving three more badges, raising their total to five: Continuous Coverage; Site Excellence; Story Page Excellence; Excellence in Writing; and Audience Engagement.
  • Abington High School Sophomore Emily Coulsey, a Green Wave Gazette member whose article "Meditation & Yoga: Necessary Means of Health" recently won the Best of SNO award.
