Dear AEEP Community,
The warm weather has finally arrived and with it comes the bright sunshine! Please remember to put
sunscreen on your child before bringing them to school. Feel free to pack hats and extra drinks, as
well. Our friends work up quite a thirst when playing and learning outside! In preschool outdoor play
is not a break from learning. Outdoor play supports child directed experiences such as imaginary play.
I am fortunate that my office window looks directly onto our great playground! This allows me to
watch and hear the children everyday as they work together to create unique play schemes. They are
tackling motor challenges, negotiating peer relationships and actively problem solving- skills that are
foundational to higher learning.
As the year comes to a close we want to celebrate all the learning and growth that has occurred at
AEEP! The last week of school will be a spirit week with many fun activities planned for the children.
We will be joining together as Morning (June 21) and Afternoon (June 22)
Sessions to celebrate with our families. Keep an eye on your child’s backpack for more information.
Please be sure to visit the Abington
Public Schools website at:

AEEP P.T.O. is actively seeking new members! The P.T.O. is a
volunteer organization and is a great way to meet other parents and caregivers. Please check your
child’s backpack for a survey that will help us in planning meeting dates and activities. If you have a
special talent or hobby that you would like to share with the AEEP
community please let us know!
My door is always open!
