Safe and Drug Free Schools
Students in grades K-12 receive instruction on substance use/abuse and violence prevention from a district-approved curriculum in their Health Education classes. This program is a research-based tobacco, alcohol, and drug abuse prevention program. To ensure a safe educational environment, the district clearly conveys the message that there is “zero tolerance” for alcohol, drugs, weapons, hate crimes, and violence within and on the grounds of the Abington Public Schools. The schools are aggressive with consequences, as well as education, intervention, and support.
