The Woodsdale Elementary School will be hosting our "Hoops for HeartS" event to help the American Heart Association. This program teaches heart-healthy habits and helps the American Heart Association raise money for research and education. Students will be learning about the importance of taking care of their hearts, sharing heart-healthy messages and participating in basketball games and activities during the week of February 12 in their Physical Education classes. Families and friends are encouraged to support their child's volunteer efforts by making donations. This is voluntary only. Students can earn thank-you gifts for donations and these donations can help us earn certificates for PE equipment. Fundraising envelopes and information about this program will be sent home beginning next week. However, you can start by setting up a personal fundraising page online at www.heart.org/hoops. Any checks should be made payable to the American Heart Association. Please support our event as these donations can save lives. All students will be participating in basketball games and activities regardless of fundraising efforts.
